Kicking Around Again
Written by haiku

Sooo recently decided to check in, see whats going on. Apparently not much. Makes me a bit sad. Maybe post a comment if you still frequent this haunt or something. I for one wouldn't mind seeing this thing going strong again, as back in the day this place was killer top notch. Why not see if we can get it there again? Anyone around wanna help/see it happen again?? I'm thinking first thing in order is to wipe most of the boards clean from requests, applications, critiques, freebies, free-for-alls etc.. Not sure how many staffers are still floating around but maybe I can dig up a few and or they might check in and notice this? I know several around dA still maybe we can also get some new faces. I'll also send C a nudge on dA too cause I think I've seen her recently updating a bit too so..... anyone anyone at all?

Be sure to remember that when you posts requests to follows SPECIFICALLY this guide as well as follow the subject rules too. These are important to keep a running studio and sane photomanipulators. So customers help us out and follow this.

Requesting Photomanipulation
When making a request for a photomanipulation, please make sure that you include the following information. DO NOT format the text away from the default values. We don't want to see bright pink and centered writing in your requests. DO NOT use incorrect sentencing. We don't want to have to wade through hundreds of 'vell, 'e 'as a strange coat 'o gold' or any such nonsense. Write simply and accurately.

One of the staff's favourite requesters, Scion, has written an excellent and detailed guide about how to attract personalizers to your request, and how to write a good request that is likely to lead to getting a good picture. You can see it HERE.

You can see the number of pages of threads on any particular board by looking to the top right of the forum, directly above the list of threads in the forum.

Hi all,

After a rather long absence, I am back on board. For those of you who aren't quite sure, I'm the boss lady - you know, the one who pays the website bills, does all of the major stuff and generally has final say in things.

I've also been gone since May this year due to various circumstances, including

  • My partner arrived from England and we went on holiday
  • We settled down together and needed to spend time together offline rather than online
  • My laptop died >.<
  • Share house had internet problems
  • Work has been very busy!
  • There is one computer between myself and my partner - and he's stuck in a foreign country and doesn't know many people. He has a lot of online friends though, and it's very, very important to stay grounded when living overseas... so he's had the lion's share of the laptop
  • We moved house
  • It took ages to get the internet going!
  • Etcetc!

We now have two computers between us, internet at home, and have functioning internet. This means that I'll be able to do more with NSHC than just pay the hosting bills :)
